Virtual Alpaca Farm Tour

…but no matter where you’re situated across the globe, you can always join us virtually at Shamarra Alpacas. Thanks to technology – and the desire of our alpacas to always be the centre of attention – we’ve introduced several live video tour slots here at our unique farm in Akaroa. 

Join our alpaca whisperer, Lydia, as she gets up close and cuddly with our alpaca family. Superstars like Prada and Inferno are always game for a camera snuffle and to walk by her side as the tour commences across some of the farm’s 90 acres. 

You’ll get to meet these friendly faces, get a stunning 360 degree view of the harbour and learn a bit about the ins and outs of alpaca rearing. You’ll also see our sustainable and luxurious alpaca fleece products in such detail that it’ll be like reaching through the screen and touching the hats, scarves, sweaters and blankets yourself.

Your tour will start in a field with a group of our cuddliest creatures, viewing them so closely through the screen that it’ll be like you’re here with us!. You’ll meet our most popular superstars – Rising Sun, Austin, Spectre, Tornado, amongst others. Then pop into the barn to learn about our award-winning fleece.

See the panoramic view of Akaroa Harbour. The town of Akaroa is rich in history and we’ll share the most interesting and juicy facts!

As you’d imagine, our alpaca babies or “cria” are always a fan favourite and so they’ll feature prominently on your livestream tour as well.
